Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
Is it time to consider adding foreign refs to the Premier League panel?

Not sure that this suggestion would improve things - in fact, it might make them worse.

Some proper shit Refereeing decisions again yesterday. Lee Mason (Fat Phil Mitchell) was the worst again. But Man u get another dodgy sending off, Man City dodgy offside goes there way. Spurs get the rolling ball free kick. Just need the plastics to get one tomorrow for a full house. Cunts.
it does not even its self out over a season.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
I have to say I don't like any of the refs currently and every week a game is ruined by a ref or linesman making a ridiculous decision.

The bigger picture and most worrying is the fact that a big percentage of games are ruined by someone being sent off. Eg why should you be sent off for a foul in the penalty area if you are the last man, that's what a penalty is there for. The mentality from the officials should be to keep players on the field wherever possible IMO , unless they do something dangerous , and by that I don't mean touch heads, push each other or even give an opponent a slap for Christ sake, it's a passionate game ...anyway off topic I know?! :)

Current laws and refs are ruining by enjoyment week in week out ...as for fgn refs , I don't watch enough euro football , I'm guessing German refs are probably the best??

Yes Monk-Koknee, The special one, waving an imaginary card at the Ref!!! I fucking hope/pray we stuff these plastic cheating scum on Boxing day. I am going to have a Bull's-eye on both teams to score and us to win!! I do think the Ref will play a large part in this game. Cheating Tossers.

I saw that Jose was instructing him to give a card from the sidelines.

That old duffer, Jon Moss up to his old tricks again, never a red card. Its unlike Chelsea to get a dodgy decision is it?

I mean cunts like Dowd are bad, but you've only got to watch the odd La Liga or Serie A game to see that they literally give a free kick for every dive no matter how ridiculous.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
I think we have some of the best refs in the world. Foreign refs won't improve it and could even introduce a language issue.

Of course with the speed of the game and the cheating that goes on these days, the refs can't spot everything. Fact is we don't see enough up and coming refs and we mostly have the same ones for years unchallenged. There is no need for them to get better.

I'm also a fan of the 4th official having video replay on a pitch side monitor. It takes seconds to watch it back after an incident these days and communicate and although the opinion is still subjective, there is more chance of blatant foul play or obvious mistakes being eradicated.
It often pisses me off when you can see the replay on a screen in the ground but the ref still stands by an incorrect decision.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
I want to give a shout out for Phil Dowd.

At a free kick, he didn't wait for the players to assemble at the required place before spraying the line, he marked the line out, and then said "There it is, now fucking stand behind it"
Or words to that effect.

Respect.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
All PL refs should be sponsored by illicit Asian betting circles - at least that way, not only could you lump on in confidence before the game, you'd have a better idea as to why certain decisions were made during the match.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
I am not sure that I am ready for foreign refs yet - but I do think the English FA needs to start introducing additional technology to support the refs in their decision making. The fourth official could be allowed to watch the video replays - that may help. Goal Line technology has quietly been a fantastic development. I am not sure that the aerosol is a great technological innovation - but even that has aided the referees a little.

But a Video replay official to review and tell the ref what they saw (like in rugby). Screw waiting for FIFA to see who will pay them the most money to win the contract - just do something in the Premier League - or trial it in the Championship, and see if it can be made to help the referees to make the right decisions.

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
Don't be silly...

Refs make mistakes all over the world...but the knee-jerkers will never learn and will continue to call up 606 and cluck away like the racket which eminates from a hysterical henhouse...

...with the shits

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
Google tells me that contracted Premier league refs earn £70,000 to £85,000 a year. Be surprised if foreign leagues pay that so am surprised some don't come here and try their luck.
Can't be worse than some of the cunts.
I see we have Phil Dowd today who has quickly got fat again so will be playing 1 min of injury time and not leaving the centre circle after the first 15mins

Re: Should foreign refs be imported to the English game?
Whatever their nationality all refs should be at least 6' tall. People at a higher point can see further than short arses. This explains why Collina 6'2" was good & Paul Durkin wasn't.
Although the ginger / no hair thing might have had something to do with it as well.
